Ritrato Photography Blog bio picture

about us and our style

we are pam and ritchie and we are ritrato photography. we decided to call our business ritrato photography because in our own language, ritrato means, portrait, picture or frames.   we wanted to carry a bit of our heritage in wherever we might end up in and share it with whoever we might meet. leaving our country, philippines,  to live in singapore and USA makes us appreciate even more the differences of our cultures and the uniqueness of each individual that we meet. it is not any surprise to us then that our style of photography is immensely  influenced with the vibrancy and heartbeat of each culture.

with fresh eyes, we love and enjoy doing shoots in totally ordinary places and turning them into fine works of art.  we revel in taking pictures of people in their element, in their basic moments. And nothing beats our joy in framing special moments that could never again be recaptured.

FUN. CANDID. PASSION.   that’s how we love it.  we want to take pictures of people \in events as they unfold.

SUNNY. RAINY. SNOWY.   we love the challenges that each unique situation present to us,  making the shots not anywhere near mundane but phenomenal.

FRIENDS. FAMILY. GOD.     we, ritchie and pam,  are born to be friends and we would not have started if not for the overwhelming support and love of our other friends and family. and WITHOUT OUR GOD, WE KNOW WE'D BE NOWHERE. praise and glory to him!

Dave and Nikki Engagement

The weather is not cooperating! We were planning a little jaunt by the Wasatch range in Morgan but with little Ms. Sunshine not showing up, we just had to postpone it for the next day. We were thinking of having Nikki just lying down in the fields but we were not planning on her getting dirty and caked up with mud. Sigh. So we decided to go for Antelope island the next day.. But as it would turn out, we don’t have that much time to do a trip down there either coz Nikki and Dave had other meetings that they have to be in. So we decided to wing it and find a nice spot on the way to Snowbasin. We are just waiting for Dave to come before we head out there.

As it would happen though, Dave learning that we don’t have that much time to make a trip down to Antelope, had another really cool location in mind. He found us a really neat place with a small lake and mountains and fields of gold in no less than a federal property. GORGEOUS! But no surprise that we will be shooed away by one of the watchmen . HAHAHA! At least, we were not taken away to jail! Tee hee!! Let’s spice this place up!

But before we go on with the rest of the photos, here’s a few shots that we have done before for their invites =)

And then off we went to Fernwood. We didn’t want a lot of posed shots with their shoot. We had a beautiful backdrop and a beautiful couple who are totally in love. We just wanted to take the images as they are. Smiling straight to the camera, playing around, hugging and kissing. It’s perfect.

And an hour and a half later, we’re done! Dave and Nikki, we can’t wait to see you guys married!
