about us and our style

we are pam and ritchie and we are ritrato photography. we decided to call our business ritrato photography because in our own language, ritrato means, portrait, picture or frames.   we wanted to carry a bit of our heritage in wherever we might end up in and share it with whoever we might meet. leaving our country, philippines,  to live in singapore and USA makes us appreciate even more the differences of our cultures and the uniqueness of each individual that we meet. it is not any surprise to us then that our style of photography is immensely  influenced with the vibrancy and heartbeat of each culture.

with fresh eyes, we love and enjoy doing shoots in totally ordinary places and turning them into fine works of art.  we revel in taking pictures of people in their element, in their basic moments. And nothing beats our joy in framing special moments that could never again be recaptured.

FUN. CANDID. PASSION.   that’s how we love it.  we want to take pictures of people \in events as they unfold.

SUNNY. RAINY. SNOWY.   we love the challenges that each unique situation present to us,  making the shots not anywhere near mundane but phenomenal.

FRIENDS. FAMILY. GOD.     we, ritchie and pam,  are born to be friends and we would not have started if not for the overwhelming support and love of our other friends and family. and WITHOUT OUR GOD, WE KNOW WE'D BE NOWHERE. praise and glory to him!

Jessica Bridals at Memory Grove Salt Lake

Doug and Jess are married! And we now have liberty to post as much as we want from Jess’ bridals. We can’t believe it has been a month, time truly flies. But the photos remain as classic and as beautiful as the day that we’ve taken them. In fact, that’s probably one of the things that has taken us aback. It’s how classic Jess’s features are and how her beauty totally translates into our images. She is absolutely stunning. And believe us when we say that it was a cold night with almost nothing to light our way. And the usual vibrance of fall has faded now to almost nothing. We happened to just manage to be able to snatch the last glory of 2009’s fall in Memory Grove. And with Jess’s maid of honor Jackie, helping us through the whole night. We totally had a blast. It sure is with such reluctance that we had to finish our shoot after the guard at Capitol State kicked us out. We can’t count how many times we’ve been kicked out of so many locations but it’s safe to surmise that we’ve gotten the shots we wanted. LOL! Love the guards. They make our lives more adventurously challenging :D

And so here’s Jess, in her Augusta Jones “Kelly” wedding gown from Alta Moda. Once again, Alta Moda hits it right on. They just have the most amazing collection of the most amazing gowns we’ve taken photos of. Always classic and always so posh. Enjoy the photos as much as we did =)
